I really enjoyed this so much thank you for sharing and it’s what I’ve been working on the past few months on Ego, Self Care, Self Love and specially Empathy. I found out that I was unaware I was unaware and you can’t fix a hole in the wall you can’t see. That’s why I’m taking a break stepping away from any judgmental, big egos for my mental health. I have had a few “wake up calls” about self care. Normally, I go, go, go and the worry is always that things will fall apart if I don’t keep going at that crazy pace. Then something happens when everything has to pause, because I physically can’t do anything and there is no choice. Of course, somehow the people around me manage. I have made an effort to be more self-aware when my body or mind are saying “enough is enough, go to bed, or take a break.” I prioritize the deadline tasks so that I can make more manageable choices with my other music projects that won’t suffer if they wait 24hours. More self care usually results in better performance when I am actually on a task. I’m better able to focus.
Absolutely! Yes to all of this. If you don’t prioritize your mental health or take breaks, you crash and burn harder, for longer periods of time. It’s a lesson that takes immense practice! There’s a balance to it all, it just takes a while to get the hang of it.
So helpful and insightful. Taking a step outside the ego and pause before moving forward.
Thanks for such a good read.
